Feature Follow Friday # 3

The Feature & Follow Friday is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee’s View and Alison Can Read.

I included the Goodreads description with each book.

What were some of your favorite picture books as a kid?

Heckedy Peg by Audrey Wood
In this story, seven sweet children are transformed by an evil witch into specific types of food.

Richard Scarry's Best First Book Ever by Richard Scarry
Illustrated in full color. Favorite Scarry animal characters introduce simple learning concepts and over 700 words

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi - by Rudyard Kipling
Here is the thrilling story of Rikki, a fearless young mongoose who finds himself locked in a life-and-death struggle to protect a boy and his parents from Nag and Nagaina, the two enormous cobras who stalk the gardens outside the family's home in India.

Falling Up by Shel Silverstein
Shel Silverstein's magical tradition continues with this long-awaited companion to A Light in the Attic and Where the Sidewalk Ends. Here are more than 100 new poems and drawings by the master of wit and wisdom, featuring a wealth of wonderfully amusing and lovable characters, including Allison Beals and Her 25 Eels, Reachin' Richard, the clothes-dryin' Moose, and Danny O'Dare, the Dancin' Bear. 160 black & white line drawings.

Outside Over There by Maurice Sendak
With Papa off to sea and Mama despondent, Ida must go outside over there to rescue her baby sister from goblins who steal her to be a goblin's bride.

If you have kids, what are your favorites to read to them?

If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff
If a hungry little traveler shows up at your house, you might want to give him a cookie. If you give him a cookie, he's going to ask for a glass of milk. He'll want to look in a mirror to make sure he doesn't have a milk mustache, and then he'll ask for a pair of scissors to give himself a trim....

The consequences of giving a cookie to this energetic mouse run the young host ragged, but young readers will come away smiling at the antics that tumble like dominoes through the pages of this delightful picture book.

Skippy Jon Jones by Judy Schachner
Siamese kittenboy who can't resign himself to being an ordinary cat. Having a time-out in his room, he resorts to his imagination. Taking on the superhero persona of the great Spanish sword fighter Skippito, he has the adventure of his life, and readers are invited along. Zany, wild, and over-the-top, this utterly original book truly begs to be read aloud.

Bad Kitty by Nick Bruel
Kitty is not happy when she's told that her favorite foods are all gone and all that's left are Asparagus, Beets, Cauliflower, Dill...and 22 other equally unappealing vegetables. So she: Ate my homework, Bit grandma, Clawed the curtains, Damaged the dishes, and so on, through Z. Only when tastier things arrive (An Assortment of Anchovies, Buffalo Burritos, Chicken Cheesecake...) does she Apologize to Grandma.

The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss
"Now, the Star-Belly Sneetches / Had bellies with stars. / The Plain-Belly Sneetches / Had none upon thars." This collection of four of Dr. Seuss's most winning stories begins with that unforgettable tale of the unfortunate Sneetches, bamboozled by one Sylvester McMonkey McBean ("the Fix-it-up Chappie"), who teaches them that pointless prejudice can be costly.

  7. I love me a blog that makes me certify I'm an adult before progressing. ;)

This is the second time I'm seeing "Heckedy Peg" as an answer! I really like Audrey Wood but I've never read that one! Seems like it's time to rectify that situation.

Here's my FF, if you feel like checking it out!:
